When you’ve just flown 10 hours from California to Gatwick International Airport, you don’t want to wander around London looking for a hotel. I prefer to book a convenient, safe and affordable place to stay before I land at my destination. We found the ideal spot at Belgravia Bed & Breakfast in the heart of London, England. We wanted a hotel that was centrally located and easy to reach from Gatwick Airport via public transportation.

There are 26 rooms within three Georgian, Grade II listed buildings at B & B Belgravia. What is a listed status building? In England and Wales, a grade II listed building means the property is of special interest, warranting preservation status. Seventeen rooms, including 3 family rooms, are located in the main building. While 9 studios are located in building 82, a short distance away. The current owners have been running this bed & breakfast for 14 years. My husband and I found it to be clean and comfortable. Little did we know when we booked Belgravia Bed & Breakfast in the heart of London, that we would be staying in the posh Ebury Street neighborhood. We found a great pub down the street for a lovely dinner.
Our room, #3, was downstairs and had a door leading out to a tiny flower-filled patio. We liked being able to have the door open to the outside fresh air and natural light. There were clean towels on our bed and nice toiletries in the separate bathroom.

Breakfast included
Belgravia Bed & Breakfast should be proud of it’s morning offerings. There was fresh juice, tea, mineral water and an espresso maker, in addition to fresh fruit, hot & cold cereal and yogurt. The bread was homemade and included made to order omelettes and Eggs Benedict.

Need to know:
Our basement room rented for £159 pound sterling per night, or the equivalent of $221.60 during our visit. A 5-8 minute walk from London Victoria Station, the hotel was an ideal location for easy arrival or departure by train. We took the Gatwick Express, (one hour) from Gatwick International Airport. Complimentary breakfast and wifi is included in the price of your stay.
Pets are allowed at the B &B. During our stay, the hotel did not charge an additional fee for bringing a pet.

Insider Tip:
We found the Hop on Hop Off bus was worth the price of an all day ticket. With several sight seeing routes to chose from, including a water tour of the River Thames, we had a wonderful overview of the heart of London. Bus ticket holders had the option to ride all three routes. On our day, we enjoyed Fleet Street, Westminster Abbey at Parliament Square, Piccadilly Street, The Royal Mews Tour, (additional fee) Trafalgar Square and stopped to admire the London Eye, one of the most popular tourist attractions in the United Kingdom.
