Hilton London Gatwick Airport Hotel Review

As someone who travels often, I try to be flexible with my schedule. However, when I know the day and time of my airport departure, I like to keep my travel plans simple and eliminate any additional stress. My husband and I recently traveled to Bath, England and flew in and out of Gatwick International Airport. In order to keep our holiday stress-free, we booked our room at Hilton London Gatwick Airport in advance. This property is the only hotel directly attached to the Gatwick Airport South Terminal.

With 821 guest rooms in the Hilton London Gatwick Airport hotel, this is one of the busiest Hilton hotels and it always sells out! Our room #7225, was located on the recently remodeled side of the building. If we hadn’t walked the 10 minutes from Gatwick South Terminal to our hotel room, we wouldn’t have known that we were staying next to a busy airport.

Our deluxe room offered air conditioning, floor-to-ceiling windows, a work desk and chair and Hilton Serenity bed. It also included a 32-inch HD TV, and an electric tea kettle. The bathroom featured Crabtree & Evelyn amenities.

Hilton London Gatwick Airport restaurants

Amy’s Bar & Restaurant offers British flavors. On the 1st floor is Charlie Fry’s Sports Bar, serving burgers and craft beers. The Garden Restaurant, located on the ground floor, is family-friendly, where kids 10 and under eat free with a paying adult. I confess that I did not dine at any of these restaurants. Instead, we opted for the Full Monty breakfast at Jamie Oliver’s Diner inside the Gatwick Airport South Terminal.

Fitness Center

The Living Well Express fitness room, as well as the business center were located on the ground floor, as was the conference center. It was a quick trip for us, so I didn’t check out the gym, but it looked busy as I walked by.

Insider Tips: I like to bring healthy travel snacks with me when I fly. I few Norwegian Air nonstop to Oakland, California and opted to bring my own food on the plane. To that end, I stopped at M&S Simply Food, at Gatwick Airport, the night prior and purchased pre-packaged salad for my flight back to the San Francisco Bay Area. I confess that I also picked up a couple of Millionaires shortbread for the 10 hour flight home.
