Hotel Review: Corvallis Comfort Suites

I was entering foreign territory when I drove over the bridge from Albany to Corvallis, Oregon. Physically, I was crossing the river, but as a University of Oregon alum, I was acutely aware that I was entering Beaver country, otherwise known as Oregon State University or OSU for short. Times have changed since I went to college. Corvallis has grown up. So, too, have the lodging choices in this college town. On my recent visit, I stayed at Corvallis Comfort Suites.

Black and orange colors are flying proud in storefronts and local businesses, and the leaves are popping during my early October visit.

My room #335, is a king standard overlooking the front parking lot. There are 96 rooms at this all-suite hotel. Families will appreciate the suites for their size, the mini fridge and microwave oven and the pullout sofa bed. To help create a relaxing stay, Comfort Suites offers the “pick your pillow” program. Soft pillows are placed in the front of the bed and firm pillows are tucked in the back. The property has a small business center with access to computers and printers. There is also an indoor pool and hot tub on site. The pool, Jacuzzi and fitness center are accessible from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., with towels available in the pool area.

Rates range from $135 to $299, depending on the room type and time of year. My king standard room rented for $135+ tax. The hotel also offers AAA and AARP discounts. Join the Choice Advantage program to earn points towards free nights or frequent flyer miles. As always, check the website for current pricing and hotel specials.
