Life in a French city with a university means energy. The charming three star Hotel des Beaux Arts offers 19 rooms at reasonable prices.
River Garonne View

My room, #42, was on the fourth floor and offered a view of the River Garonne via the small roof top patio. The room had a bath tub, a plus for those who prefer a relaxing soak after a busy day of sightseeing.

The room rate is 255 euros in high season, with an additional charge of 14 euros for breakfast. I did not have dinner in the hotel restaurant La Brasserie des Beaux Arts, but I do recommend dinner at the nearby Chez Fazoul restaurant. Later in the evening, the restaurant offers salsa dancing. As Toulouse is a city full of students, I felt comfortable walking around the area by my hotel at night.
