Are you planning a holiday to Stockholm, Sweden? If you will be taking an airplane to Sweden, you’ll most likely fly in or out of Stockholm Arlanda Airport. We enjoy staying at Best Western Plus hotel properties and Stockholm was no exception. This Best Western Park Airport hotel review will give you a first-hand look at what to expect from this Arlandastad hotel in Sweden.
What makes Best Western Plus Park Airport Hotel in Stockholm unique?
This 4 star, 3-story airport hotel is a Best Western Plus property. Unlike the upper-midscale Best Western Signature hotel Gamla Stan, the Best Western Park Airport Hotel is not in a historic building. That’s okay with me, because what I want in a Best Western airport hotel is convenience, cleanliness, quiet and a complimentary airport shuttle, at an affordable price. Fortunately for my husband and I, we received all of the above.
My husband drove directly from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to return our rental car, after dropping me at Best Western Park Airport Hotel. Truthfully, I can’t say what restaurants are available by Hotel Arlanda (another name for this hotel) as we only dined at this Best Western. Our flight departed early the next morning.
My husband had no trouble locating the BW Park Airport Hotel shuttle at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. We also had no difficulty taking the complimentary hotel airport shuttle in the morning of our departure. It actually gave me comfort to see so many flight attendants and airline pilots at our Stockholm airport hotel. For me, their presence gave Best Western Park Airport Hotel instant credibility.
What are the rooms like at Best Western Park Airport Hotel?
With 124 rooms, BW Park Airport Hotel offers 5 different room categories. Hotel rooms range from single, double, king and business to family rooms. This Best Western has met the criteria to be a Nordic Swan Ecolabelled hotel. To my understanding, that means they prohibit fossil or gas for heating. They also use environmentally-friendly cleaning products and are eco-conscious when it comes to laundry.
There was a 40-inch Smart TV in room. A work station, an electric kettle for freeze dried coffee or tea and in-room safe were also available. The bathroom, with walk-in shower, was clean and efficient.
The space age shower design looked like you could be beamed up, or teleported to another galaxy. If you’ve never watched the Star Trek tv series with Scotty and William Shatner, as Captain Kirk, you have no idea what I’m talking about. Regardless, the shower design is spatially efficient and effective.
Dining options at Best Western Plus Park Airport Hotel
Thankfully, there is a restaurant on site at Best Western Park Airport Hotel. We checked in early and looked forward to an early dinner at the hotel. The dinner menu is available online, and a physical menu is available at the restaurant. I had a chicken Caesar salad, very heavy on the salad dressing. My husband ordered the pork schnitzel with fresh cooked French fries and a glass of red wine.
Dinner service begins at 5:00 p.m. I received a $5.00 voucher to be used towards dining, as I am a Best Western platinum rewards member. There is a fully-stocked bar on-site that is open earlier in the afternoon. The bar also sells light snacks.
Breakfast service begins at 4:00 a.m. Hotel guests may also request “To-Go” breakfast bags the night prior.
Breakfast buffets here, as in most European Best Western hotels, have much wider selection of food offerings. I wish our USA-based Best Western hotels would take their cue from Europe when it comes to breakfast.
Fitness options at Best Western Park Airport Hotel
There is a gym onsite at this Best Western airport hotel. We didn’t utilize this facility. However, it is open to hotel guests 24/7.
On site parking is free for hotel guests. Also, long term parking is available for traveling guests. The hotel is not pet-friendly.
Rates fluctuate depending on time of year, ranging from $70 – $150. Of course, prices are higher when major events are taking place in Stockholm. Anyone see the Beyoncé concert? I hear hotel rooms were hard to come by during her show.
Our room rented for $110, however, we reserved well in advance of high season. Always check the BW website for specials. Best Western rewards members may also utilize reward points for hotel rooms.
We appreciate that Best Western Plus Park Airport Hotel offers a luggage drop for those arriving before check-in. Check-in time is 2:00 p.m. and check-out time is 12:00 p.m.
