Bordeaux; a fascinating city, exciting wine region, historic university town and UNESCO World Heritage site. I don’t have to convince you that there is plenty to see and do in Bordeaux. If you are looking for a four star hotel, located within Bordeaux’s Golden Triangle, look no further than Hotel Bayonne Etche Ona. This Best Western Premier hotel blends old world charm and architecture with modern comfort and conveniences.

With its city center location, you’ll be able to walk everywhere. From a city tour in the morning, to walking the streets at night, we felt very safe in Bordeaux. Stroll along the Garonne River, or visit the many museums.

This Best Western hotel has 61 rooms and 4 suites, located off La Rue Ste Catherine, and is situated in two historic XVIIIth 18th century buildings, also classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Our suite, room #211, featured a queen bed with a separate living room, including a 40 inch flat screen tv, in addition to two bathrooms. One bathroom included a rainfall shower and the other bathroom had a bathtub. Our room included robes and slippers and the bed had a nice memory foam mattress topper. In addition, our room included a mini bar, Nespresso coffee machine and a 50 cl bottle of water upon arrival. Another plus for those of us who travel with carry on luggage, there is a hair dryer in the bathroom.

After a day of exploring the city center, I have no idea why you would want to work out in a downstairs fitness center, but if you prefer to exercise in a gym, there is a facility on site. I imagine some type of fitness center must be a requirement to be accepted in the Best Western Premier category, because I don’t think this gym gets a lot of use. If you are interested, a personal trainer is available upon request for an additional fee.
