The first U.S. Legoland Hotel debuts in April

Welcome to the first Legoland Hotel in the United States!

How are your Lego building skills? Time to gather up the kids and hone them!

North America’s first Legoland Hotel opens April 5 at the entrance to the Legoland theme park in Carlsbad, California. (30 miles from San Diego).

All 250 rooms are decked out in Lego’s three most popular product lines — Pirate, Kingdom, or Adventure. Rooms feature mini-refrigerators, coffee makers, work stations, kids-only bunk areas, and in-room treasure hunts. There’s also free WiFi, HD flatscreen, and of course, lots of Lego bricks.

Other fun elements include a 32-foot high pirate shipwreck (canons blare when the pirate flag is raised), a knight’s castle with a giant burping ogre (yes, you read that correctly), themed elevators (one is a disco theme with mirror ball). There also are interactive Lego features and play areas throughout the hotel.

The hotel will hold Junior Concierge contests in which six winners aged 8-12 receive a free weekend stay and Lego products in exchange for sharing their passion for the park with other young guests.

Another a cool added perk is that hotel guests will be allowed VIP entry to various rides and attractions at the park before it officially opens.

There is also a heated swimming pool, fitness center, pool bar and lounge, Bricks Family Restaurant, and the Skyline Bar.

Opening rates start at $149 at night. You can book online or call 877-LEGOLAND (877.534.6526).
