Hotel Review: Embassy Suites Valencia

Embassy Suites Valencia, California
Why do I enjoy staying at an Embassy Suites property? They are clean, spacious and offer an excellent value for the price. I recently had the opportunity to stay at Embassy Suites Valencia, and, as expected, the hotel delivered above and beyond my expectations. I was visiting Southern California to attend the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival. Held annually in April, this family-friendly event was a rootin’ tootin’ good time for this cowgirl!

Centrally located in the Santa Clarita Valley, this all-suite hotel is conveniently situated off the 1-5 freeway near Six Flags Magic Mountain. The 156 room property offers perks beyond the complimentary hot breakfast and 2 hour evening manager’s reception. If you are a Hilton Honors member you’ll get even more freebies depending on your level of membership, from bottled water (silver, gold and diamond level) to free WIFI. Not a HHmember, you’ll need to cough up $9.95 per day for internet access in your room. There is free wifi available in the lobby and business center on the first floor.

Parents will appreciate the outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, while the athletic types should note the 24 hour accessible fitness room. If you happen to be traveling with family or teenagers, the cooked-to-order breakfast is a winner. With omelets, waffles, bacon, hot and cold cereal and plenty of fresh fruit and pastries, even the picky eaters will be happy. As a yogurt lover, I did notice that this item wasn’t on offer during the weekend, but it did make an appearance on Monday. Breakfast is served from 6:00 – 9:30 a.m. Monday – Friday and 7:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. weekends and holidays. The manager’s reception is held nightly from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

My king bed, two room suite had a mini fridge, coffee maker and wet bar, in addition to a large desk and plasma tv in the living room. Another television was on the dresser in the bedroom. The bed was comfortable, pillows were fairly good (I prefer down pillows) and duvet bedding was clean.

My two room suite rented from $129 – $189 depending on demand; as always, check the website for current pricing and discount rates.

Insider Tip
Remember to leave Fido at home this trip, as Embassy Suites Valencia is not pet-friendly. There is plenty of self-parking, but you’ll get dinged $8. The hotel does offer a coin-operated laundry room, so feel free to get dirty while you’re on vacation!
