We all know that Bend, Oregon is the hip place to be when it comes to year round outdoor pursuits. Be it skiing in the winter or hiking and stand up paddling in the summer. Tack on a Central Oregon hotel stay and expenses start to add up. Best Western Premier Peppertree Bend to the rescue. This fairly new Bend hotel is conveniently located on the west side of town and comes with an affordable price tag. My Best Western Premier Peppertree Bend review will give you an inside look into this independently owned hotel.

What makes Best Western Premier Peppertree Bend unique?
The 4-story Bend hotel is both hip and rustic. Located near Oregon State University Cascades campus, BW Premier Peppertree Bend opened in 2018. Its location to the OSU Cascades campus will appeal to parents, while outdoor enthusiasts will like it for its bike and ski storage. Called the Tour de Bend bike and ski storage room, Best Western hotel guests will rest easy knowing that their treasured bicycles, snowboards and skis are safely secured on property.

The lobby of this Best Western Premier hotel is light-filled and spacious with a boho chic feel. A coffee, tea and water station is stocked 24/7 for hotel guests. There is also a Go Marketplace to the left of reception in case you need any snacks or drinks. The marketplace also sells laundry detergent for anyone wanting to do a load of wash during your stay. The laundry room is located on the 3rd floor of the hotel.

What are the rooms like at BW Premier Peppertree?
We stayed on the 3rd floor of the 4-story hotel. Our queen twin room #302 was unique in that the twin bed was actually around the corner from our queen bed. It offered privacy for both mom and dad in the queen bed and the adult or child in the twin bed. A smart, spacious layout, with a sofa bed, as well, for family-friendly travel. Our room also offered a small balcony. I appreciated that the windows actually opened to let in the fresh, high desert mountain air.
The gas fireplace put out heat and there was a small desk for those wanting to combine work with play on holiday. The bathroom seemed spacious with its walk in shower. Bath amenities were Pharmacopia with shampoo, body wash and conditioner dispensers mounted on the wall of the shower. Plus points for no small plastic bottles, except the lone bottle of lotion.
In-room Keurig coffee maker was available, in addition to the complimentary breakfast served on the first floor.

Dining options at BW Peppertree Bend
The complimentary Best Western breakfast, available from 6-9 a.m. was buffet style. Kids and adults will like the touchless pancake maker. My husband was pleased to see that bacon was in the chaffing dish, but he was not impressed with the quality. None the less, we hadn’t seen bacon make a breakfast buffet in a Best Western since pre-pandemic days. Inflation is a real thing, y’all.
Peppertree Pub & Eatery is open from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday. Check with the front desk, as dates and time may differ. We received an automated text inviting us to the pub for $1.00 off our first drink. Beer drinkers will want to check out Cascade Brewing next door for 10% off your first beer. Room service is not available at this hotel.

Keep fit in Bend
If you are the type who likes to work out while on vacation, there is an exercise room on the first floor with balance balls, yoga mats and cardio equipment. Additionally, there is a game room with ping pong table and Jenga.
If you want to relax after a day on the slopes of Mount Bachelor or hiking around the Cascade Lakes or along the Deschutes River, visit the indoor hot tub. There is also a full-size indoor swimming pool. As is typical of hotel pools, no lifeguard is on duty.
The hotel is pet-friendly, with dogs allowed on 1st and 2nd floor rooms. There is an additional nightly fee for each pet with a two pet maximum.
Rates fluctuate on the time of year, ranging from $150 – $450. Our queen room rented for $229. We are Best Western reward members and used our points for this one-night hotel stay.
The Peppertree Best Western Premier Bend offers a full service business center. There is no charge for parking. For things to see and do in Bend, Oregon click here.
