On a recent visit to Nashville, we stayed at the Elvis Suite on Music Row. The suite is located in the historic Spence Manor Hotel, once one of Nashville’s most desirable destination hotels.
Music celebs from Willie Nelson, Frank Sinatra, and the Beatles were among guests who frequented Spence Manor in the seventies.

Then, of course, there was the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Elvis Presley. When Elvis was in Nashville working at nearby RCA Studio B, he occupied the entire sixth floor.
The building itself is unremarkable, a faded white concrete block that was built in 1974 and is showing its age in 2018. But, directly behind is the piece de resistance — the massive, guitar-shaped pool built by Webb Pierce, a Nashville singer, guitarist, and songwriter with a flair for flash.
And while you can’t lease the entire top floor of 11 Music Square East like Elvis did back in the day, you can stay in #604. And swim in the legendary guitar pool.

The suite is an immaculate, thoroughly updated one bedroom with an open floor plan, view of the pool, high-end linens, full kitchen, split bath, luxurious shower, WiFi, free, secure and covered parking, washer/dryer, and an acoustic guitar!
Located on renowned Music Row, #604 is steps from the roundabout at Division and Demonbreun Streets and a short walk to The Gulch. It’s adjacent to Owen Bradley Park on the northern gateway to Nashville’s Music Row where the bronze Gary Ernest Smith’s statue of Bradley singing at a life sized piano resides.
Bradley was a country music record producer and a key player in creating the “Nashville Sound” in the 1950s and 1960s. Music City has memorialized the late Bradley in bronze as it did for Atkins.
Insider Tip
Nashville has lots of great food and has become quite a culinary destination. If you’re looking for a top-notch breakfast, lunch, or brunch in a casual European café atmosphere, try Marche Artisan Foods. Located near the heart of Historic East Nashville in “Five Points.” Seasonal ingredients inform the menu and local artisan foods and baked goodies are available at the on-premise market. We shared a fantastic corn chowder and a mushroom and swiss omelet served with a light, refreshing salad.
The acoustics are loud but there is convivial atmosphere and when we visited, the entire restaurant chimed in for a rousing Happy Birthday rendition for a guest.
Music City indeed.
