San Francisco knows how to throw a New Year’s Eve party, but with so many to choose from, which hotel package will you choose?
Downtown will explode with revelers this December 31st as all the stalwart hotels offer decadent events to ring in the New Year with much pomp, glitz, and glitter. Plus a lot of cover bands and unknown DJs.
Read on for just a sampling of some of your options…

Starting at 9pm and stretching well past midnight, the Palace Hotel teams up with Aykut Events for the San Francisco International Ball. Guests can wander between four rooms for DJs and performers plus a premium bar. Music ranges from salsa and merengue in the Latin Room to hip-hop with DJ Kevin Armstrong to gypsy and Euro beats in the Persian /International room.
The Palace Hotel is located at 2 New Montgomery St. Tickets from $95-$675.
Over at the Omni, you can kick up your heels on three different dance floors at the Grand Gala. Get ready to walk the red carpet and ring in the New Year with throngs of your new BFFs dressed to the nines. This is fancy — “upscale, chic, cocktail and evening attire,” please. No ball caps, ratty jeans or t-shirts…
Live casino games and a photo booth with props add to the fun.
The Omni is located at 500 California Street. Tickets from $39.95-$1,999.

The grande dame of Union Square, the Westin St. Francis, is hosting an internationally themed New Year’s Eve hotel package called ‘Passport to the World’.
The event features a hosted open bar, seven different party areas with 10 DJs and live bands. Performances include Taiko drummers, and stilt walkers from Catalyst Arts roam in 20,000 square feet of space.
The Westin St. Francis is located at 335 Powell Street. Tickets from $125–$300.
Just a few blocks away, the bash at Parc 55 hotel is dubbed the ‘New Year’s Eve Massive 2019’.
The theme is Five Cities with five dance floors — Vegas, Hollywood, New York City, Miami, and of course, San Francisco. Music ranges from top 40 and club hits (Vegas) to salsa, reggaeton and tropical beats (Miami).
The Parc 55 Hilton is located at 55 Cyril Magnin Street. Tickets from $45 – $2,249.
All the New Year’s hotel packages include massive balloon drops and promise “premium party favors” though we haven’t been able to ascertain exactly what that means but are assuming they’re legal 🙂 But to be sure, there will be no dearth of neon glow sticks.
This is just a smattering of the large-scale hotel parties that will be going on about town to bring in 2019. For a more complete list, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/d/ca–san-francisco/new-years-eve-hotel-package
