Vacationing in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Once the winter season is upon us, we look to the south for escape. All the way south, we find the Caribbean island of the Dominican Republic. Dive into this glorious escape this season, get away from the cold weather, and bask in the island sun by staying at an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, known for its amazing beaches, delicious cuisine, and sunny days.

The Barceló Bávaro Palace Deluxe is a 5-star hotel located on Bávaro Beach in Dominican Republic. It is on the top 10 list of the best beaches in the world and I can attest to that claim – it’s definitely one of my favorite beaches! The beach is protected by a coral reef that makes the sea perfectly calm – your worries will float away as you relax in these calm, warm turquoise waters.

One of the options when booking at this resort is your choice to be part of the Club Premium, which allows you to also visit the adjoining Adults Only Resort. As part of the club, you’ll also skip the check in lines and check in with an agent inside the Club, where you’ll enjoying champagne or local beer, as well as appetizers, fresh fruit, and juices depending on the time of day. A bellman will lead you to your room and your vacation is about to begin!

Once you check into your room – fully equipped with the latest technology, private jacuzzi on the balcony, comfy beds, and WIFI included, drop your bags and start enjoying what the resort has to offer. I like to start by snacking on some fresh, local Caribbean fruit – it’s one of my favorite things about the area: the abundance of fresh, tropical fruit!

Next up, the U-Spa with spectacular views of the sea, offers top-notch services such as water therapies, beauty salon, relaxation, therapeutic massages, hydrotherapy circuit, thermal swimming pools, sauna, steam rooms, sun loungers, and more. It’s a fantastic spot to spend the afternoon just relaxing and enjoying the services – make sure to get a massage for the full effect!

Our hotel offers a huge variety of sports including golf, kayaking, windsurfing, sailing or hobie wave boats. It also has a gym and offers classes such as yoga and pilates, so you can stay fit even while on vacation! But if you decide you don’t want to work out, you can hang out by the pool bar all day long – sipping fresh pina coladas and rum-based drinks. Did you know the Dominican Republic is one of the biggest producers of rum in the world? If you’d like to learn about the rum production on the island, make sure to read my post on “How is Dominican Rum made?”.
