With deer, geese and other game on the peripheral, Golf Course Designer Robert Trent Jones Jr. does a magnificent job creating the Woodlands Golf Course. With pristine conditions from tee to green, its hard not to cherish the beauty of the trees (the course is called Woodlands after all) merging together into the blue Oregon sky.

Bang for the buck

The public Woodlands Golf Course presents early challenges with a water bordered par 5 to get the fun underway. The second hole is pure Central Oregon golf perfection with water, trees, sand and a picturesque view of Mt Bachelor in the distance.

Balls for the range and a cart are included with the price and help keep things quick and easy on the course. Deschutes County residents play for $49-$59 (Junior – 17 and under - $25.00 all day) May 28- June 11.  High golf season June 11th – September 26th resident rates are $25-$79 and public rates range from $45 to $95.

Woodlands Golf Course – Hazards Ahead

With multiple hazards to avoid, the Woodlands Golf Course can bring out the best or worst in any golfer. The elevation really lets you hammer the ball, so chose your club carefully or you may end up in serious trouble. The Par 72 course is a challenge, but as my playing partners showed, a truly skilled golfer can walk off the 18th with an impressive score.

Who said “golf is a good walk spoiled?” Mark Twain said it, and he obviously hadn’t played Crosswater Golf Course in Central Oregon.

On the breathtaking Crosswater golf course, every hole is as scenic as the last. The views of the Robert E. Cupp designed course you see on television, while watching the Champions Tour, don’t do justice to this 18 hole course.

Central Oregon beauty at Crosswater Golf Course

Every golfer passing through Central Oregon needs to stop to play Crosswater. However, it is a privately owned and operated golf course. You are in luck if you are a member, guest of a member, or a guest of Sunriver Resort.

With Mt Bachelor backdrops and the spectacular Deschutes River winding its way throughout the course,  every hole can be showcased on a postcard. As Crosswater Golf Course is a traditional exclusively bent grass heathland style, golfers will appreciate the 7,683-yard course with its pure wetlands, luscious plants and native wildlife.

In fact, Crosswater Golf Course was designated as a certified Audubon Sanctuary through the Audubon Society of New York State in 1999, one of only 150 golf courses in the U.S. with this distinction.

Playing like a Pro

Every player will feel like a pro with up to date maps of pin locations, and yardage guides acting as your own personal caddie. Regardless of score, you will have a great time playing with the wonderful views and people of Crosswater in Central Oregon.
