It's my birthday today, so is my usual custom to stretch out my special day as long as possible.  As my birthday falls on a Monday this year, I decided to start celebrating on Saturday.  While I won't bore you with all the details, I will share that my husband and I headed to the Napa Valley for a ride on the wine train.

Traveling in Style

In December I received a pair of Joe's Jeans thanks to the Traveling Mamas and a sharp PR representative for the up-scale denim company. After reading how well the designer jeans fit each of the Traveling Mamas, I was starting to get concerned.  I'm not as young or thin as some of my fellow travel writing friends.  What if my high-waist-style Muse jeans didn't fit?  I did have to get them shortened, but to my relief and delight, the Joe's Jeans fit perfectly.

My 16 year old, petite sized daughter is also a fan of Joe's Jeans. I love the fact that a hip company like this makes jeans to fit all shapes and sizes.  The soft material feels comfortable when I'm traveling in the car, on trains, or walking around in a Napa Valley vineyard. The fact that there is 2% Lycra in the jeans doesn't hurt either.  Thank you Joe's Jeans.

I was going to include a birthday wish list, because all travel writers have a list of "must have" items, but instead, I'll close with my "travel" wish list for 2009.  I wish to find myself in Switzerland for an eco-friendly visit.  I hope to be in Chicago in July to attend the BlogHer conference and perhaps a travel writer meet up.  Norway has always been on my wish list because my father's side of the family is Norwegian. Finally, I wish for continued good health so that I may keep up with my passion for travel.
